Nationwide — Patricia Cuffie-Jones is a trailblazing Black woman in Hollywood who has made a remarkable impact as a director and producer, although many may not know the extent of her work. For over 20 years, Cuffie-Jones has been quietly building an impressive portfolio across platforms like BET, Netflix, TV One, Bounce TV, Tubi, and even the Hallmark Channel. In a male-dominated industry where opportunities for Black women are often limited, her ability to direct and produce more than 10 films and TV projects, including her newest film on BET+ called Brewster’s Millions: Christmas (2024) with a star-studded cast including China Ann McClain as Morgan Brewster, Romeo “Lil Romeo” Miller as Andrew, Richard Pryor Jr. as Montgomery Brewster, and Rain Pryor as Opal.

Cuffie-Jones, a Baltimore native and graduate of Mervo Vocational High School, has dedicated her life to storytelling. Her career began in theater at the age of 14, where she quickly developed a passion for writing, directing, and producing. From there, she expanded her talents into television and film, founding Diverge Entertainment with her husband, Jeffrey Jones. Through Diverge, Cuffie-Jones has created content that challenges societal perspectives while promoting love, faith, and resilience. The production company’s projects reflect her commitment to crafting narratives that resonate deeply with diverse audiences.

Her other films, A Wesley Christmas (2022) and Favorite Son (2021), were also significant achievements. Yet, many viewers remain unaware of her hand in creating these impactful works.

Whether she’s directing holiday hits like The First Noelle (2022) or suspenseful thrillers such as Game of Deceit (2023), Cuffie-Jones brings a unique vision to each project. Her leadership behind the camera has earned her five NAACP Theatre Award nominations for her period piece Love Soul Deep, which spanned from the 1930s to the 1970s.
