Nationwide — Rapper Ma$e will make a big return to the music scene with a triple album set for release in May. The date coincides with the start of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ highly publicized trial for assault and sex trafficking.
Cam’ron, the leader of The Diplomats, is helping Ma$e select which tracks will make it onto the final version of the album. Ma$e mentioned, “I’m listening to the songs that Killa picked out of the stuff I made.”
When asked about the release date, Ma$e confirmed, “May 5. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping.” He hinted that he wasn’t initially planning to share the date but Clarett persuaded him to make it public.
It remains unclear whether Ma$e’s new music will touch on Diddy’s legal troubles or focus on his own journey. The decision to release a triple album is a nod to a time when double albums were common in hip-hop, adding excitement to his long-awaited comeback.
Interestingly, Diddy’s trial, which was originally set for May 5, has been delayed to May 12. It’s uncertain whether Ma$e will adjust his release date to coincide with the new trial schedule.
