Nationwide — Regina Peacock, a woman from Florida who worked as an office manager at a Tallahassee doctor’s office, has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $500,000 from her employer. She faces charges of grand theft and organized fraud.
Court documents show Peacock allegedly created duplicate employee profiles in the payroll system. This allowed her to pay herself extra over several years without the clinic noticing.
According to WLBT, the scheme reportedly ran from January 2018 to March 2025. During that time, Peacock allegedly took $509,633 in total.
Peacock told authorities she was using the money to help a homeless woman. Officials did not confirm whether any of the funds actually went to the woman.
Law enforcement arrested Peacock following the review of payroll records and financial audits. Peacock is now awaiting trial, and prosecutors plan to pursue the charges aggressively. If convicted, she could face significant prison time and be ordered to repay the stolen funds.
