Nationwide — Reveckeyo “R.A.” Hill, a pastor from Georgia who also runs a car dealership, was reportedly arrested following warrants for theft by deception and identity fraud at his car dealership, H and P Auto Broker.
One victim, Evette Strickland, recounted how her late husband supposedly owed $70,000 for a truck he never received.
“(If) Someone’s a pastor, you would think they were… they would lead you in the right direction and not take money from you,” Strickland said.
Another victim, Stephanie Dowdy, woke up one day to find her car missing, only to discover it had been repossessed. She won a civil judgment against Hill after finding out he hadn’t been paying her loan company despite her regular payments.
Hill, speaking about the allegations, insisted on a fair investigation and claimed to have evidence supporting his deals’ legitimacy in the form of paperwork and audio recordings, but he has yet to provide proof.
Hill has filed an appeal regarding his charges in Elbert County but remains in the Clarke County jail with no bond.
