White Pharmacists Get Just 2 Years in Prison for $786K Healthcare Fraud Scheme

Nationwide — Ricky Wayne Quinn and John Anthony “Andy” Null, two former pharmacists from Corinth, Mississippi, have received light sentences in a healthcare fraud case. The two, who are both white, were tied to a $786,972 scheme involving false Medicare and Medicaid claims for drugs that were never dispensed.

Between 2017 and 2021, the two men ran Medical Plaza Pharmacy in Corinth and submitted false billing records. According to WLBT, prosecutors said they claimed payment for prescription drugs that patients never actually received, targeting Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Null was sentenced earlier on April 20, 2026. His sentencing came as part of the broader resolution of the case involving both pharmacy owners and their roles in the billing scheme.

Quinn was sentenced on June 29. He was ordered to serve 30 months in federal prison under the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, along with three years of supervised release after he completes his prison term.

Both men were also ordered to pay restitution totaling $786,972.10. The payment goes to the Mississippi Division of Medicaid to cover the fraudulent claims paid out during the scheme.

The case was investigated through coordination between the Mississippi Division of Medicaid and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General. Federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi handled the court proceedings.

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch said the outcome reflects continued efforts to address fraud in taxpayer-funded healthcare programs. She also acknowledged the work of partner agencies that helped push the case through to sentencing and recovery of funds.
