Nationwide — Late last year, SaMiyah Fowler, a 3-year-old African American girl from Killeen, Texas, finally beat cancer after completing her chemotherapy treatments. Her family happily celebrated as she rang the bell at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center, marking the end of her fight with cancer.“I feel like my baby is now healed. She can finally be a normal kid and do all the things I felt she couldn’t do before,” her mother, LaTosha, told KCEN-TV.
Samiyah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just one year old. Fowler spent months searching for a bone marrow match for her daughter. Now, just before the holiday season, SaMiyah is cancer-free and free from the heavy chemo treatments.
“There’s no limitations now. There’s no stopping us. We can go out here and have the best time. I’m so excited,” she continued.
To celebrate Samiyah’s recovery, doctors surprised her with a Princess Tiana doll, which she embraced with gratitude.
