In addition to the docuseries, Sean XLG, a rapper, author, and hip-hop music historian will also release his 5th studio album.
Nationwide — Sean XLG, a respected rap artist and hip-hop historian, is working as a founding member of Legacy Films to highlight the former careers of celebrity artists and athletes who made significant impacts in their respective fields. He comments, “My partners Barbara Myles, Q Chambers and I are excited about this new venture. We plan on doing a docuseries on several artists and entertainers with our first project being with JJ Fad, Kool Rock of the Fat Boys, and Whodini. We also plan on bringing in athletes like Sugar Ray Leonard and actors like Karyn Parsons to tell their stories.”
In addition, Sean XLG’s album, Artificial Intelligence, is slated for release on June 7th and will be available on all streaming platforms. As his 5th studio album, Artificial Intelligence will be a follow-up to the record-breaking LP, The X Factor, which surpassed over 6 million streams as an independent release, one of the most successful feats to date.
With Artificial Intelligence, Sean aims to sustain his success in the music world while continuing to promote his self-created genre of Adult Contemporary Hip Hop.
He comments, “Hip Hop is now 50 years old, so we should expect different variations at this point. We’ve had Miami Bass, House music, and other forms, so Adult Contemporary Hip Hop is next in line”.
Artificial Intelligence starts where the X Factor left off with funky, hardcore dance grooves and boom-bap jams. The instrumental tracks are loaded with catchy titles, one of which is Do the Heavy D, a tribute track to the legend. “Heavy D did so much for the music that I wanted to honor his legacy,” Sean states.
As a historian, Sean is also a respected journalist who wrote a highly regarded article for USA Today entitled “What Hip-Hop Means to Us”.
