Nationwide — A security guard at a Taco Bell in downtown Los Angeles, California was caught slapping a woman who refused to leave the restaurant while ordering food. Video footage of the incident quickly went viral.
The woman, who had been ordering food at a self-service kiosk, was confronted by a male security guard who insisted she leave. When she didn’t comply, the guard slapped her across the face, according to the New York Post.
Alejandro Sanchez, who recorded the footage, said, “The security guard was telling her to leave, and she didn’t want to because she was ordering food. Then he just went off, and she started going crazy.”
“He slapped the s–t out of her. It was crazy. Everybody was shocked,” he added.
After the slap, the woman stood in shock before walking to another part of the restaurant. The guard followed her, leading to a heated exchange. Eventually, the guard escorted the woman out.
Sanchez, who regularly visits Taco Bell, speculated that the woman might have appeared homeless because of the nearby Skid Row area.
Moreover, he also mentioned that Taco Bell employees appeared more concerned about him filming “than the fact that their security just smacked someone.” Taco Bell has yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, others expressed concern over the incident and the restaurant’s lack of response. Television personality Chandra “Deelishis” Davis took to Instagram, saying, “The way this being slapped this woman is as if he has done it before and will do it again. And all for loitering!!! This is unacceptable!!! Do you have that much disdain for women!! We must demand that all public service employees of any and all levels, learn and exercise “proper conflict resolution” and “self control”. This was hard to watch but even worse, he may never be reprimanded for it”
