Black Man Arrested for Making Violent Threats Against President Trump

Shannon Deparraro Atkins

Nationwide — Shannon Depararro Atkins, a 46-year-old African American man from Florida, was arrested for allegedly posting violent threats against President Trump on social media. The FBI launched an investigation after receiving a tip about the posts.

Atkins reportedly made two Facebook posts. One was a repost of a message saying, “Jan 20th is the Day of Mourning for USA.” Atkins captioned the shared post with, “Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America.”

The second post stated, “I’ve been banned from ‘X’, because I said I hope and pray someone kills him. History is supposed to repeat itself. We haven’t had an assassination in years.”

Police confirmed Atkins admitted to posting the threatening posts. He faces charges of making written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, as well as possession of cocaine.
