Nationwide — Simone Biles recently returned to the hospital for a medical procedure weeks after a health scare she described as one of the scariest experiences of her life. The Olympic gymnast shared a brief update with fans but has kept details about her condition private.
Biles posted a selfie on her Instagram Story showing herself wearing a hospital gown and cap while sitting beside her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens. The couple smiled in the photo, which she shared while thanking him for taking her to the procedure on his birthday.
The gymnast added white heart and happy-crying emojis to the post but did not reveal details about the procedure or the medical issue that led to it.
According to Fox News, the hospital visit came more than a month after Biles said she had a serious medical emergency that left her feeling like she “almost died.” She previously explained that the situation “could have ended very differently” without sharing what happened.
At the time, Biles said the experience was one of the most frightening moments of her life, especially because Owens was away in Indianapolis for football practices. She said she spent the following week resting in bed and thanked the people close to her who checked in, visited, and sent flowers.
Biles has not revealed the cause of the emergency or provided additional details about her recovery. She said she would share more about the experience when she feels ready, while continuing to focus on her recovery.
