This webinar will dive into the deep-rooted African American postpartum traditions that extend far beyond the conventional six-week recovery period recognized by Western medicine. It will also explore how these traditions extend into a full-year postpartum recovery period for new mothers, that reduces maternal morbidities, while nurturing both their physical and emotional well-being as well as creating wellness.

The PAAPC webinar provides a comprehensive overview of holistic postpartum care practices, including the preparation of nourishing foods, identifying signs of postpartum depression, and strengthening family bonds.

Research shows postpartum care is eXective in reducing symptoms of depression, improving breastfeeding outcomes, and supporting new mothers through their transition into parenthood.
