Nationwide — The NorthStar Group and The Source Magazine will present the inaugural SOURCE360 Expo, a three-day, multi-venue event at sites in Downtown Brooklyn beginning Friday, Sept. 19th. The multifaceted event includes a conference, concert, and festival covering art, music, fashion, film, sports, dance, tech, gaming and digital media. The SOURCE360 Expo will provide attendees access to top industry leaders, influencers, enthusiasts, and brands. SOURCE360 will also explore community and women-focused topics relating to the culture in an effort to reclaim the “positive vibe” and culture intended with Hip-Hop.“This is an exciting and unprecedented opportunity to showcase how innovative and diverse Hip Hop is locally and globally,” said L. The series of events will mark milestones in the global culture and is a testament to how Hip Hop has inspired innovation and permeated every aspect of popular culture and creativity. Panel discussions, performances, art exhibits, film screenings, tech summits and more will enliven and entertain attendees, offering both, a retrospective and of and a glimpse into the future of Hip Hop across various channels as well as the community-at-large.
Events will take place at Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Barclays Center, Long Island University, and throughout the Brooklyn Cultural District. Industry and community leaders such as Run DMC, Wu Tang Clan, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Spike Lee, Danny Simmons, Brandon Martinez, Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams, and more are expected to participate and be in attendance. A full-scale concert will also be held at the Barclays Center on Saturday, September 20th.
The concert’s exciting lineup is punctuated by the official return of the Wu-Tang Clan who will bring their timeless classics to life on Brooklyn’s biggest stage. The infamous Queen Bee, Lil’ Kim will also perform for the first time since giving birth and give a special tribute to the Notorious BIG.
The Diplomats (Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones) are also confirmed to perform together for the first time in 3 years. New Orleans rap veteran Curren$y will grace the stage, as well. Since parting ways with YMCMB, he led one of the most impressive independent campaigns in the music industry.
Additionally confirmed to perform are Bone Thugs-N-Harmony – one of the greatest groups of the past 20 years – and Dom Kennedy, the renowned, talented West Coast emcee.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, The Source continues to grow and evolve by leaps and bounds – the digital and social media platforms increased more than 300% over the past six months. The brand continues to curate authentic, edgy and socially responsible Hip Hop content on a local and global scale.
