“The Blind Side” Actor Quinton Aaron Remains on Life Support After Collapsing at Home

Quinton Aaron on life support

Nationwide — Quinton Aaron, the 41-year-old actor who played Michael Oher in the 2009 film The Blind Side alongside Sandra Bullock, remains on life support after collapsing at home and being hospitalized for several days. Doctors say he is partially breathing on his own and showing steady signs of improvement.

According to TMZ, Aaron has been in the hospital for four days as doctors continue to closely monitor his condition. His wife, Margarita Aaron, said the medical equipment supporting him is not doing all the work, which has given the family hope.

Doctors diagnosed Aaron with a blood infection, and medical teams are still running tests to determine what caused it. At this time, there is no clear explanation for why he collapsed inside his home.

Margarita said her husband first woke up feeling sore and believed it was due to a bad night of sleep. Days later, the pain in his neck and back continued. While walking up the stairs at home, he suddenly lost feeling in his legs and fell.

Margarita, a registered nurse, rushed to help him and guided him to lie down. She then called 911 as Aaron slipped in and out of consciousness while being transported to the hospital, where doctors advised placing him on life support.

Since being admitted, Aaron has shown gradual improvement each day. Most recently, Margarita said he opened his eyes and gave a thumbs up, showing brief moments of alertness as treatment continues.

The 40-year-old actor has faced several health challenges in recent years. In March 2025, he was hospitalized in California after developing a fever and coughing up blood, with doctors believing he had Type A flu and pneumonia. He also battled a severe upper respiratory infection in 2019 and later shared his 200-pound weight loss journey in October 2025.
