Comedian Tracy Morgan Gets Sick at New York Knicks Game, Taken Away in a Wheelchair

Tracy Morgan sick at Knicks game

Nationwide — Tracy Morgan experienced a medical emergency while attending the New York Knicks’ game against the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden on Monday, March 17. The 56-year-old comedian fell ill during the game, with attendees capturing footage of him vomiting onto the court.

Videos posted later on social media showed the 30 Rock star being escorted from the arena in a wheelchair, covering his face with a towel with blood reportedly coming from his nose. The game, which ended in a 116-95 victory for the Knicks, was briefly delayed in the third quarter for approximately 10 minutes due to the incident.

A representative for Madison Square Garden addressed the situation, stating, “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside.” However, Morgan’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for further details.

Morgan has a history of health challenges, including diabetes and a kidney transplant in 2010. In 2014, he survived a devastating car crash when a Walmart truck struck his limo on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident left him in a coma for two weeks, with a broken leg and severe injuries, while his friend and mentor, James McNair, tragically lost his life. Morgan later spent five months in a wheelchair and had to relearn how to walk and talk.

Reflecting on the accident’s 10th anniversary, Morgan shared his emotions with PEOPLE, saying, “I want to say to everyone who was in the van with me that night, I love you, and we miss you, Uncle Jimmy Mac. And to the driver that night and his family, me and my comrades forgive you.”

Despite his past struggles, Morgan continues to embrace life and his career. Just last month, he appeared at SNL50, celebrating Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary. Speaking at the event, he expressed gratitude, saying, “Just thank the Lord that I’m a part of this, that I survived the accident and I’m alive to be here for this.”
