Nationwide — Singer Usher has launched a paid internship program tied to his upcoming tour, giving aspiring music industry workers in Atlanta and Detroit a chance to join live production teams. The initiative paired selected interns with professionals supporting the tour alongside Chris Brown.
For the first time in his career, Usher recruited interns to work directly on a touring production. The program focused on hands-on roles within the entertainment industry rather than classroom learning or remote tasks.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the opportunity selected 10 interns from Atlanta and Detroit who showed interest in music, live events, and touring operations. Each participant joined different areas of tour support depending on skills and interests.
Interns worked alongside production crews during the R&B tour setup and performances. They helped with show execution tasks and observed how large-scale concert tours operate in real time.
The internship categories covered several parts of live touring, including stage production, logistics, and event coordination. Each role placed interns inside active workflows used to deliver live shows across cities.
Applications for the internship closed on May 8. It is not yet known if the internship program will run again in future tours.
