Nationwide — William Spencer, an African American father from Clairton, Pennsylvania, says his 11-year-old daughter was attacked outside Clairton Elementary School by the mother of a 7-year-old boy who had been bullying her. The assault happened on April 1 and left the girl with a concussion and blurred vision.
“It’s terrible, the bullying is terrible and when you reach out to try and be civil, it fails,” he told KWTX.
Things escalated when 40-year-old Jasmine Snow, the boy’s mother, allegedly attacked Spencer’s daughter outside the school. Surveillance footage showed Snow hitting the girl in the face, shoving her to the ground, and dragging her. A witness stopped the attack, and Snow drove away.
Spencer said his daughter is now recovering from a concussion and blurred vision in one eye. He hopes her eyesight returns to normal. After the incident, he withdrew her from the Clairton School District.
Police have charged Snow with assault and harassment. The school district said it is cooperating with the investigation but declined to comment further due to the ongoing police case. They added that student safety remains a top priority.
