Atlanta, GA — Zonnique Pullins, the daughter of rapper/actor T.I. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris, was arrested recently for carrying a concealed weapon through security at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. According to Atlanta police, the 20-year old “attempted to go through the TSA checkpoint… while carrying a 380 Ruger semiautomatic pistol.”
Not being able to board her flight, her gun was confiscated, she was arrested and taken to the local precinct, and she now faces a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in an unauthorized area. She was also transported to Clayton County Jail, but has since been released.
Neither T.I. nor Tiny have commented on their daughter’s arrest, but Zonnique’s cousin Tamara Whitaker did issue a statement on Instagram saying:
“Zonnique did get caught with her registered weapon but like most of us she just forgot it was in her really big purse. We were taught in my family that people are crazy out here and carrying a small gun to protect yourself is what’s needed…. With the late shootings and death of a pop star all in Orlando just this week, I think it’s very appropriate that she carries a gun just not to the airport maybe lol. But my girl is home and good.”
Zonnique Pullins is also a musician herself. Up until recently, she was a part of a girl group called OMG (Officially Miss Guided) Girlz for about 7 years, but the group broke up in 2015. While with OMG Girlz, Zonnique went by the stage name “Star” and the group, in 2013, won the Outstanding New Artist award at the NAACP Image Awards.
