Man to Get 40 Years in Prison for Killing Ex-Girlfriend While in Bed With Her New Boyfriend

Zverian Brent

Nationwide — Zverian Brent, who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Terrencia Jackson, while she was in bed with her new boyfriend, Henry Perry, has been convicted and now faces up to 40 years in prison. The attack left Jackson dead and Perry seriously injured.

The attack happened on June 7, 2022, inside her home in South Jackson, Mississippi. Prosecutors said Brent forced his way inside, where he found the couple lying in bed together.

According to WLBT, investigators said Brent confronted Jackson and Perry and opened fire after a brief argument. Jackson, 28, was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Perry was also shot but managed to fire back. He was later rushed to the hospital.

Police arrested Brent shortly after the incident. He was convicted of second-degree murder and aggravated assault. He now faces a maximum of 40 years in prison for the murder charge and an additional 20 years for the assault.

District Attorney Jody E. Owens, II, described the killing as “a shockingly cold-blooded act” and said Brent will be held accountable for a crime that shattered a family.
