Mom’s Boyfriend Charged After 9-Year Old Girl Found Dead in a Duffel Bag Finally Identified

Los Angeles, CA — Local police have confirmed that the young Black girl who was killed and found stuffed inside a duffel bag near a Los Angeles area hiking trail has been identified as 9-year old Trinity Love Jones. Even more, 38-year old Emiel Hunt, Trinity’s mother’s boyfriend, has been charged with murder for the gruesome killing.

Trinity’s body was discovered inside a rollaway duffel bag by workers who were doing maintenance on an equestrian trail in the area on Tuesday last week. Soon after, the Sheriff’s department announced that her death was a homicide investigation.

“As additional facts are established and verified, investigators anticipate that additional information will be available for release during a press conference later in the week,” Deputy Tracey Koerner wrote in the press release.

It has also been revealed that Hunt spent more than a decade in prison on a torture and child abuse conviction from 2005. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond.

“We have to get to the bottom of it,” one family member told KTLA. “We need justice. We need to figure it out. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this to no one. Everybody deserves an answer.”

Trinity Jones’ father, Antonio Jones, described his daughter as “fun, loving, big heart, bubbly.” He told ABC7, “The little girl could’ve been whatever she wanted to be in life.”

A makeshift memorial near the spot along the trail where she was found has been set up. It has been decorated with flowers, candles, balloons, stuffed animals, and photos to remember the young girl.
