Meet Two Black Entrepreneurs Who Thought a Good ACT Score and GPA Would Get Them Instant Approval For A Home Loan

The story of two African American men who started out very ignorant about credit, but have now launched a successful company as experts on financial literacy and the laws of credit scores.

Ronald Eddington and Kevin Williams, founder of Impact Credit Solutions

Nationwide — Meet Ronald Eddington and Kevin Williams,  the founders of Impact Credit Solutions and Coaching. They are two entrepreneurs who once thought their excellent ACT scores and good GPAs would automatically grant them the finer things in life until life got in their way.

Read their stories to learn how good or bad credit can impact your life! Listen to how becoming homeless, sleeping in vehicles and on air mattresses, and how child support was eating a chunk out of their paychecks. Not to mention the constant denial letters they received from financial institutes turning them down for car loans or credit card access.

Ronald

In 2013, Ronald made a life-changing decision that left him homeless, sleeping in his truck and basically working for free because so much child support was coming out of his paycheck.

After 4 years of that, a light bulb went off in his head, causing him to focus heavily on his credit. With a low credit score of 491, Ronald began the long process of studying books, watching videos, and even joining groups with individuals that had similar or like credit challenges. After months of letters to credit bureaus, creditors, and collection companies, Ronald finally started to see light at the end of the tunnel. While on the journey to reestablishing his credit, Ronald gained knowledge that he felt could IMPACT others.

Ronald could not contain his insightful experience. When friends and family members asked him to help them after hearing his restorative credit story, he fell in love with the idea of helping others improve and increase their credit scores.

Kevin

In 2008, Kevin was going through a divorce in which he accumulated a lot of debt. In fact, he was sleeping in his vehicle until it was repossessed. People now ask Kevin how he got back on his feet. His response is: “Miss a few car payments and you will definitely be back on your feet!” Kevin continued to carry the burden of bad credit for eight years. He began to educate, equip, and empower himself with financial literacy.

From 2016-2018, Kevin was focused on learning the laws about credit and tools to improve his credit scores. In 2018, he was able to purchase his daughter a brand new 2019 Chevrolet Sonic. It was important to him for his daughter, who was in the 10th grade at the time, to come along for the car buying experience. Kevin wanted to expose her to the advantage of having good credit and how seamless the process goes. A cosigner was not needed, nor did he need bank statements or employment verification because he had diligently put in the work restoring his credit!

Launching the company

During the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, both Ronald and Kevin saw the opportunity to dive deeply into credit improvement studies. This would afford them more knowledge to educate those who were greatly affected and had time to reflect on life as it pertains to their credit during such a turbulent time. They have a strong passion for helping other individuals improve and increase their credit scores, which is how Impact Credit Solutions and Coaching was born. It was a journey well taken for both Ronald and Kevin to learn what was necessary to rectify their credit scores.

Their belief is that the African American community can greatly benefit from being more educated from an early standpoint in life learning that good grades and impeccable ACT scores will only get you so far in life, but your credit score will determine the neighborhood you will be able to live in, the kind of car you want to drive, and a number of other factors. This is why Ronald and Kevin are focusing on middle school, high school, and HBCU students, in hopes that the seeds they plant today about the importance of credit scores.

Most have already been hit with a “No” because of their credit score.

Get enlightened and educated by two brothers whose passion is to not let others suffer or struggle due to credit ignorance, but to let their story be a lesson to millions.
