Nationwide — Rapper BigXthaPlug, who is from Texas, was arrested on a marijuana possession charge after a traffic stop in Arlington. The 26-year-old rising artist, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was detained after police found marijuana and a handgun in his vehicle.
The rapper’s passenger, 22-year-old Cleodist Landum, had an active felony warrant. Police also found marijuana on him. He was taken into custody on charges related to the warrant, marijuana possession, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
BigXthaPlug, a Dallas native, was booked into Arlington City Jail. His representatives have not released a statement yet.
BigXthaPlug has faced many challenges throughout his life. Raised by parents living on the streets, he witnessed violence at a young age and struggled in school. He initially pursued football, earning attention from Division 1 scouts, but was expelled from college for selling marijuana. Turning to street hustles, he was arrested multiple times. During his time in jail, he began writing raps. He released his debut album in 2023 and has since gained a strong following in the rap scene.
