‘Real Housewives’ Star Eboni K. Williams is Now a Single Mom at 40 by Choice Thanks to IVF

Nationwide — Eboni K. Williams, who is a lawyer and former Real Housewives of New York City star, recently shared her journey to becoming a single mother via IVF. In August 2024, she welcomed her daughter, Liberty Alexandria Williams.

Williams, who is now 41 years old, decided to freeze her eggs in her mid-30s, even though she wasn’t planning to have children at the time. She described the decision as a “power move,” as reported by Entertainment Now.

Her decision to become a solo parent came after discovering the social media group Single Mothers by Choice, which inspired her to choose a sperm donor and embrace single motherhood.

“I know me well, and I don’t like group projects. I enjoy the responsibility and the freedom of being the executive decision-maker. I kind of need to have full authority and move how I see best,” Williams said in an interview with Scary Mommy.

Williams also expressed her goal to challenge stereotypes surrounding Black women, Black mothers, and single Black mothers. She hopes her story can help reshape how society views these roles.

After going through a difficult IVF process, Williams finally welcomed her daughter, Liberty Alexandria Williams, in August 2024. She acknowledged the emotional and physical challenges of IVF but said the result was worth it and a “remarkable miracle.”

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Williams shared photos of her newborn and wrote, “I’m responsible for ensuring her wellbeing and that Liberty enhances the spaces she occupies. This little girl has been born into significant privilege. ⁣Thus, she holds significant responsibility.”
