Nationwide — Jasmine Bledsoe, a 14-year-old African American entrepreneur who is also a scholar athlete from Fort Worth, Texas, has been honored with a prestigious leadership award in recognition of her exceptional service to others. Her dedication to her community, innovative spirit, and commitment to making a positive impact have made her a standout leader and role model. She is continuing the legacy of service that runs in the family. Her grandparents, her parents, and even her brother have made it a priority in their lives to give back to their community.
Reflecting on her role as a young leader, Jasmine is inspired by the words of Barbara Jordan, who said, “A nation is formed by the willingness of each of us to share in the responsibility for upholding the common good.” Additionally, she finds motivation in the words of Booker T. Washington: “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” Jasmine hopes to embody these messages and encourages others to follow suit.
Jasmine believes that young people can help solve today’s problems through innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition to her community service work, she is the founder of The Jasmine C. Bledsoe Collection, a business that showcases her creativity in custom design for jewelry and clothing. Demonstrating her commitment to giving back, Jasmine donates a percentage of the proceeds from her business to nursing homes and children in need. Looking ahead, Jasmine plans to expand her service projects and continue to inspire others to get involved. She believes that everyone, regardless of age, can make a meaningful contribution to the world. Jasmine also enjoys playing basketball and creating digital content.
