Nationwide — Kenya Moore, the 53-year-old reality TV star from Detroit, Michigan, has broken her silence following her suspension from The Real Housewives of Atlanta after a controversial moment involving fellow castmate Brit Eady. During the grand opening of her Kenya Moore Hair Spa, Moore publicly displayed explicit images of Eady—images that Bravo blurred on air—which led to her removal from the show for the rest of Season 16. Despite the backlash, Moore took to Instagram to thank her supporters and reflect on her 12-year journey with the franchise.
According to Newsweek, the explosive episode aired just hours before Moore’s Instagram post. It showed Moore revealing the blurred images of Eady, which she claimed were obtained through a private investigator. The stunt, perceived as an act of retaliation following an ongoing feud with Eady, shocked both viewers and fellow cast members. Porsha Williams called the moment “mortifying,” while Cynthia Bailey told Moore, “I think you’re better than this.” Eady, who had attempted to make peace at the salon opening, accused Moore of staging the drama for attention.
Moore, who joined RHOA in Season 5 and appeared on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, has denied any wrongdoing. She wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in June that she never distributed private images or engaged in revenge porn. Moore said her actions were motivated by fear for her safety, referencing an earlier altercation in which Eady made a veiled threat on camera, saying, “I got whips, pistols, everything.”
As of now, Bravo has not confirmed whether Moore will return for future seasons. Her image has been removed from promotional materials, and she won’t appear in any confessionals for the rest of Season 16. Despite this, fans have rallied behind her, with the hashtag #BringBackKenya trending online and many sharing messages of support on social media.
In a recent interview on The Tamron Hall Show, Moore revealed that she felt unsupported by production, saying, “There were threats in my direction… and they made me feel like I was being a Black Karen.” Meanwhile, Eady posted a message on Instagram asserting, “I’m still standing strong no matter what.” The future of Moore’s role in the Real Housewives franchise remains uncertain as Bravo continues airing the remainder of Season 16.
