“Trouble in Paradise” — Nick Cannon Confirms That He and Wife Mariah Carey Are Separated

Nationwide — TV entertainer Nick Cannon has confirmed that the rumors are true; He and his wife pop star singer Mariah Carey are separated, and are living in different homes. The two had been rumored to always be arguing in both private and public.

Cannon recently told The Insider, “There is trouble in paradise…we have been living in separate houses for a few months.” But he denied that infidelity was the reason why they split up.

He added, “My main focus is my kids” referring to the couple’s 3-year old twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe.

TMZ, however, reports that it’s more than a separation, and that the couple is already divorced. According to their web site, the divorce is a “done deal” and “the property settlement and child custody have already been hashed out.”

In addition, Nick is reportedly not allowed to make a comment about the divorce other than saying that they are living separately (which is exactly what he said!). If he says any more, he will reportedly be penalized finally according to the divorce agreement. But Mariah, under the agreement, has the right to say whatever she wants.

The couple controversially got married back in 2008 when Nick was just 27 years old, and Mariah was 38. Now, Nick is 33 years old, and Mariah is 44.
