Nationwide — Abdoulie Jagne, a 58-year old Uber driver from Gwinnett County, Georgia has been arrested after a 16-year-old girl accused him of sexually assaulting her before he dropped her off to her destination.
The girl, whose name has not been released, told police officers and investigators that she had been drinking at a bar with friends and one of them arranged for her to be picked up and taken home by an Uber.
Uber, who has been cooperating with the investigation, says that their data confirms that there was a delay in the victim’s transportation time. In other words, it took a lot longer than usual for her to be dropped off.
Meanwhile, Jagne, who started driving for Uber just two months ago, has been arrested and booked on a rape charge. He has also been permanently banned from Uber.
