Atlanta, GA — R&B singer Angie Stone (whose real name is Angela Brown) has reportedly been arrested and released after getting into a fight with her daughter in Lithonia, Georgia. Police say an argument turned into a physical fight, and 53-year old Angie knocked out several teeth of her 30-year old daughter, Diamond.
Diamond told police that the argument started after Angie told her to clean up and get her children “under control” because they were “running around half-naked.”
“Ms. Diamond Stone then went on to state that Ms. Angie Stone started (getting) in her face, telling her she needed to leave because she is tired (of) her,” police said in the report. “Ms. Diamond Stone then stated her and Ms. Angie Stone started to argue, and that’s when a physical altercation started to occur.”
Both women were taken to the DeKalb County police station for questioning, and charges were later filed against Angie before she was released. Angie, however, has denied using a metal stand to strike her.
This is not, however, Angie’s first time being arrested. She was also arrested back in March 2011 after being caught speeding and driving on a suspended license.
Angie Stone is a successful 3-time Grammy nominated singer, best known for her hit songs “Brotha,” “No More Rain” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You.” She also recently appeared on TV One’s popular reality show, R&B Divas: Atlanta.
