Memphis, TN — Bradley Watkins, a 36-year old white man from Tennessee, was recently arrested after reportedly harassing two Black children at a Family Dollar store. He allegedly tried to run them over while holding a gun, threatening to kill them and shouting racial slurs at them.
According to the affidavit, as the victim and his brother was walking home, Watkins followed them using a white Ford Crown Victoria while holding a gun. The victims split up and ran in different directions while Watkins continued chasing them, pointing a gun, and shouting, “N—-, I’ll kill you.”
Both boys came home safely and their grandmother was the one who called the police. A neighbor said she saw Watkins chasing the brothers in his car at a high rate of speed, running them off the road.
Watkins admitted to the police that he had an argument with the two children but he didn’t say about the chasing incident. He also refused to have his house and car searched by the police.
Watkins has since been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and no bond has been set. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail and is set to be arraigned in court on Monday.
