Camille Cosby Stands By Her Man: “He Is the Man You Thought You Knew”

Nationwide — Actor/comedian Bill Cosby’s wife, Camille Cosby, has issued a statement supporting her husband at least 15 women have come forward claiming that he drugged and/or raped them back in the 70’s and 80’s. This was her first public comment since the renewed allegations began.

In the statement, Camille says, “He is the man you thought you knew. A different man has been portrayed in the media over the last two months. It is the portrait of a man I do not know. It is also a portrait painted by individuals and organizations whom many in the media have given a pass.”

She adds, “There appears to be no vetting of my husband’s accusers before stories are published or aired. An accusation is published, and immediately goes viral.”

She went on to say, “None of us will ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim,” she said. “But the question should be asked – who is the victim?”

Bill Cosby himself also made a statement during a recent interview. He was asked how his wife has been holding up, and he replied, “Love and the strength of womanhood. Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love.”

Bill and Camille just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year, making them one of the longest-lasting couples in entertainment history. They were married in 1964, just one year after they met.
