Toledo, OH — Crystal Phillips, a 23-year old mother from Ohio, says she was completely shocked when she came home to discover that her three young sons had been shot — two were killed and one is in critical condition — allegedly by her boyfriend, 27-year old Kevin N. Moore.
She said that when she returned home, everything felt normal not until her 2-year old daughter ran up to her, saying Moore caused one of her brothers to have a nosebleed. When she went to the bedroom to check on them, she was shocked to see them suffering from a gunshot.
Her sons 1-year old Gabriel and 5-year old Ahmir, both died from multiple gunshot wounds and 4-year old Ashtan had been in critical condition after he was shot in the right side of his jaw and the bullet exited on his left side.
Phillips couldn’t believe what happened, claiming there wasn’t any indication that Moore would do that. She told The Toledo Blade, “I really have no clue what happened. We weren’t on bad terms. There was no violence, there was nothing.”
Moore, who had a history of violence charges, has since been charged with two counts of murder of a victim younger than 13 and one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He is being held in the Lucas County Jail on a $5 million bond.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been organized on behalf of the family to help raise funds for funeral costs and medical expenses. It has so far raised over $7,000.
