Former UCLA Dean Starts Online University — Offers Bachelors in Multicultural Relations

Shropshire University

Los Angeles, CA — Shropshire University will begin classes in January 2015 with over 120 course offerings and 11 Bachelors degrees. The University will offer all of its courses online. “There has to be a connection between what you learn and how you use that practical knowledge in establishing a career path. That’s the priority of Shropshire University,” says Founder and President, Dr. Sonel Y. Shropshire. For nearly 20 years, Shropshire has been one of the most recognizable and influential persons in higher education. He served as Dean for several colleges including UCLA, Loyola Marymount University, Texas Wesleyan University and Stetson University. Since 2006, he has been an academic consultant developing faculty, staff and student recruitment strategies for many of the country’s prestigious institutions including Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Illinois, Columbia University, Georgetown University and 358 others.

What makes Shropshire University different will be the wide range of areas of study and intriguing elective courses. From Women’s Studies and Gender Equity to Health Services Administration and Global Marketing, SU’s courses will provide practical expertise from highly qualified professors. “Each of our professors will have extensive academic and professional backgrounds in the areas they teach,” explains Shropshire. With other course offerings like Ethical Issues in Sports Management, Social Media Brand Development and International Business Analysis, SU is gaining quite a bit of attention. Students will also have professional mentors which, along with academic advisors, will assist in shaping their future. Mentors are from the corporate, educational and organizational/association sectors.

Another remarkable aspect to SU is it’s flexible financial installment program. Students won’t have to incur debt by student loans. SU’s Financial Accounts Office will develop a feasible payment plan which will allow balance between education and life commitments. At a cost of $225 per credit, SU is one of the more affordable online universities.

“We want our students to be successful – in life, education and career. That’s our primary goal. We are excited about providing a new level of higher education for Bachelors degrees,” says Dr. Shropshire. An interest list is now forming for January classes.
