Sanford, FL — George Zimmerman, the man who shot Trayvon Martin almost 8 years ago but was acquitted of murder charges, is filing a lawsuit against Martin’s family. Zimmerman is seeking more than $100 million as he claims that there had been a conspiracy to frame him.
The lawsuit further claims civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump helped to swap out the real witness, Brittany Diamond Eugene, for Jeantel, who was her half-sister, because she was reluctant to provide false statements that would incriminate Zimmerman based on the script allegedly prepared by Crump.
Jeantel then allegedly posed as Trayvon’s girlfriend who was on the phone with him during the altercation with Zimmerman, even though it was really Brittany.
The lawsuit is based on the allegations prompted by the newly discovered evidence from a new documentary and book entitled The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud that Divided America.
Moreover, according to the lawsuit, the Sanford Police Department already investigated and determined the case as self-defense but because of the false evidence, he was charged with murder with a possible life sentence.
The lawsuit also alleges malicious prosecution, abuse of process, civil conspiracy and defamation. Trayvon’s parents, prosecutors and state authorities “are alleged to either have known about or should have known about the witness fraud, obstructed justice, or lied repeatedly under oath in order to cover up their knowledge of the witness fraud,” Klayman said in a statement.
