Michael Brown’s Funeral to Be Held Monday, August 25th — Al Sharpton to Deliver Eulogy

Michael Brown Funeral Announced

Ferguson, MO — The family of Michael Brown, the unarmed teen recently shot and killed by a white police officer in a St. Louis suburb, has confirmed that his funeral will be held on Monday, August 25th at 10am CST. The funeral will be publicly held at Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, and Al Sharpton will deliver the eulogy.

The expenses of the funeral will be reportedly covered by Sharpton’s National Action Network, Alphi Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and model Kimora Lee Simmons (who is a native of St. Louis).

The family has set up a fund called the Michael Brown Memorial Fund, and has already raised more than $100,000 via their GoFundMe page at www.gofundme.com/justiceformikebrown. According to the page, the money raised will be used to seek justice on Michael’s behalf.

According to a private autopsy, Brown was shot six times (twice in the head) by Officer Darren Wilson after he allegedly charged an officer after being stopped for walking down the middle of the street. His controversial death sparked local and national protesting about police brutality and racism.

Brown’s parents, Michael Sr. and Lesley McSpadden, say “only justice will bring peace”. They want the officer who shot their son to be arrested and charged for murder.
