12-Year Old Accidently Mowed the Wrong Lawn and a White Neighbor Called the Police

Reginald Fields

Maple Heights, OH — Reginald Fields, a 12-year old entrepreneur from Ohio who owns Mr. Reggie’s Lawn Cutting Service, has been cutting lawns and cleaning up yards with the help of his cousins, brothers, and sisters this summer. But a white neighbor recently called Maple Heights police to complain.

“They said I was cutting their grass. I didn’t know it!” Reggie said.

His customer for that day, Lucille Holt, became confused when she saw police officers outside until she knew that her neighbor complained about the group for apparently cutting a section of their property, which was just about a foot where the two properties meet.

The police didn’t interfere with the kids, favorably. Reggie finished his job but he was still a bit discouraged.

“I was like, that’s a shame. I didn’t know,” Reggie repeated.

Meanwhile, Holt posted a video on Facebook about the incident.

“Who does that?” Holt could be heard saying in disbelief of her neighbors. “They call the police for everything. They called the police ’cause my kids was throwing snowballs; they called the police because my child was crying because he was getting a whooping. Who does that? They should be glad these kids not out here breaking their car windows out,” she continued.

Holt’s video received positive feedback and people wanted to support Reggie’s business.

“People are inboxing me like, ‘How can I get in touch with this children? Where are they at? I got property I want these kids to cut,'” Holt said.

Reggie and his team have been receiving calls from all over the city now. He said he’s going to use the money he would earn to buy new equipment and further expand his business.

“Just give me a call. I will be there. On time!” Reggie said.
