In her new book, ‘Get Rid of Your Stupid List!,’ author T.L. Adams shares dating tips
Grand Prairie, TX — “Have you ever wondered why you are successful in every area of your life except for relationships? Have you ever wondered why you keep attracting the wrong ones and why you keep wasting time with them? Do you feel that you are not successful in relationships because men are intimidated?” T. L. Adams, who holds two master’s degrees, tries to provide answers to these questions through her book, Get Rid of Your Stupid List! – Seven Reasons You Are Successful and Still Single (published by Archway Publishing).
“The book was written to encourage, motivate, and help you reflect on your decisions when it comes to dating,” says Adams. “Based on one woman’s personal experiences, this guide seeks to help you change the way you see relationships, men, and yourself.”
An excerpt from the book:
The beginning of trying to mend my broken marriage should have started a long time ago. I decided to book a seven-day cruise vacation that fell on our sixth wedding anniversary. The purpose of the vacation was to rekindle the fire that went out in our marriage. I made the mistake of asking my husband at the time whether he was happy on our anniversary.
The response I got was not what I expected or one that I wanted to hear. His response — “I haven’t been happy the past five years and I only stayed married to you this long because we have kids together”—crushed my soul, heart and spirit, all at the same time. All I could do was cry and wonder, “What just happened? Did he just tell me that? Now what do I do? What do I do with this information?”
