1-Year Old Boy From Texas Sadly Shot to Death in His Home

1-year old Rory Norman killed

Dallas, TX — Rory Norman, a 1-year old boy from Texas, was reportedly shot and killed while he was asleep in his home. The little boy died just a few weeks before he would have turned 2-years old.

According to police, the shooting that occurred at the home in South Dallas last Sunday at about 3:30am was “intentional and deliberate and this location was targeted.” Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall said that the gunman must have known the layout of the home because he shot only into the bedrooms.

“He angled the weapon in the downward position and because it was 3:30 in the morning, he knew the residents would be asleep and so he knew where to fire,” Hall said.

Norman was reportedly shot several times. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. His 20-year old uncle, who was home from college for the holidays, was also shot and was in stable condition in a hospital.

Meanwhile, Terry Lockridge, a neighbor recounted when he was awakened by the shocking incident. “That’s how loud it was,” he told 5 NBC DFW. “It woke me up. It sounded like somebody was beating on the garage.

Lockridge also remembers talking to Rory through the back fence. He said, “He was an inspirational little boy. I used to give him candy, donuts, cookies. I’d give him something to drink.”

Moreover, the motive is still unclear and no arrests have yet been made in connection to the shooting. Police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

“It happened on my watch and I am angry and this sh– has to stop in this city,” Hall said.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment for the felony offense.
