New Collection Features Original Black Art — Not Just on Canvases — But Also on Pillows, Blankets, Apparel and More

Nationwide — Sofy Decor LLC announces the release of their vibrant and afrocentric “Melanin Poppin” collection. Black culture bloggers and influencers are invited to preview the collection and artists are invited to submit artwork to be featured in the collection.

On SofyDecor.com, designers can have their artwork printed on multiple products such as pillows, tapestries, throw blankets, totes, canvases, apparel and more. The artist’s products are displayed in their own Sofy Decor online shop, and they are paid every time products featuring their designs are sold. The platform allows black culture artists to create and grow their personal brand while having their work highlighted on a platform tailored for their customer’s decor desires.

“We allow our designers to focus on creating their best work while Sofy takes care of production and order fulfillment,” said co-founder Harold Thompson. Sofy Decor’s product line looks as if it could be featured in the pages of Elle Decor or House Beautiful but with an urban twist, and they pride themselves on having both affordable and trendy products.

Thompson adds, “We’re really excited about our ‘Melanin Poppin’ collection, where customers have access to home decor with thought provoking designs that are great conversation starters as all decor should be. I believe many of today’s black culture artists have an extremely interesting perspective of the world; so we provide them a platform to share that perspective while also empowering them to benefit financially in the lucrative decor industry.”

The “Melanin Poppin” collection features designs based around black culture icons and influences such as: Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Dizzy Gillespie, MLK, Malcolm X, Civil Rights, The Harlem Renaissance, Black Love, and more. “We noticed a real gap in the market where it was extremely hard to find captivating home decor that reflects our cultural interests. We offer our customers alternative options that are positive reflections of themselves and their culture,” says co-founder Calvin Barnes.
