Black Student From Mississippi Awarded Almost $3M in College Scholarships

Nationwide — Taylor Herron, a Black student from Mississippi who studies art, has received nearly $3 million in college scholarship offers and accepted into 38 schools including several prestigious art colleges across the country.

Taylor, who previously attended Germantown High School, is now set to graduate from the Mississippi School of the Arts after completing her Visual Arts program in her 11th and 12th grade years.

Taylor was known in the school as an outstanding student. She was chosen Miss MSA, Hall of Fame, Prom Court, Vice President of the Diversity Club, and Student Government Association Floor Rep.

Moreover, Taylor was recognized with numerous state, regional, and national awards for her art. She also had her artwork hung in the United States Capitol.

MSA said Taylor has received offers from many art colleges in the country and she chose to attend Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, according to WAPT.
