Chicago, IL — According to the American Diabetes Association, 13 percent of all African Americans aged 20 years or older have been diagnosed with diabetes. African Americans are also twice as likely to be diagnosed with Type two diabetes. Known as a silent killer, diabetes has taken the lives of many. One organization seeks to put a stop to that. Launching today, The Suga Project, LLC seeks to open up the dialogue within the African American community about Type 2 diabetes and bring more awareness to healthy lifestyles.
The Suga Project, LLC seeks to course correct and bring more awareness to managing type two diabetes or helping African Americans decrease the risk of developing it.
When it comes to managing type two diabetes, self-education and self-management is key.
