Demarcus Thornton and James Densmore II, the Founders of Fitnuss LLC
Nationwide — Gadsden, Alabama-based Fitinuss LLC has finalized an agreement to acquire the iOS app SWAP club from Atlanta-based startup ReKindness LLC. The company plans to expand beyond iOS functionality into Android and full website accessibility by early 2020.
Fitinuss LLC operates fitness centers in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. The company also manufactures and retails fitness equipment with distribution across the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.
The purchase of the SWAP Club iOS app enables Fitinuss to expand its portfolio of businesses and leverage its infrastructure to exponentially increase the size of the SWAP Club community beyond its current membership. “The combination of SWAP Club with our retail partnerships and marketing assets will significantly expand the community and provide members of SWAP Club an enhanced experience with an even greater sales success rate,” said Demarcus Thornton, President of Fitinuss. “The acquisition is also expected to result in greater efficiencies and significantly increase our share of the market,” added James Densmore.
Fitinuss will use SWAP Club’s existing technology. “Our current members will continue to be able to access their listings and links with no degradation in performance and service during this transition,” stated Bryan Kindland, co-founder of ReKindness. “We are excited for the SWAP Club community to flourish under the innovative and creative leadership of Demarcus, James and the rest of Fitinuss team,” added Melanie Kovach, ReKindness co-founder.
SWAP Club, which will continue to operate under that name, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Fitinuss LLC. The terms of the agreement are confidential.
