“Jersey,” A New African American Drama Series About a Black Mayor Whose Life is Spiraling Out of Control, Stars Alonzo Herran, Jr., Jojo Simmons, Maino and More

Newark, NJ — Series creator Alonzo Herran, Jr. and Yaneira Davis along with lead actors Alonzo Herran, Jr., JoJo Simmons, Lilo Brancato, Havoc, Taral Hicks, Chuck Zito, Safaree, Sophia the Body, and Maino will present JERSEY the series produced by Alonzo Herran, Jr. and Vincent Edge Hill, a Royal Family Production and Entertainment film.

Created by author and actor Alonzo Herran, Jr. and written by script writer Yaneira Davis with co-editor Vincent Edge Hill, the 5-part series JERSEY stars JoJo Simmons (Actor and Reality star on the MTV series Run’s House), Lilo Brancato (American actor, known for his performance as “Calogero Anello” in Robert De Niro’s 1993 directorial debut, A Bronx Tale), Havoc (Rapper and lead producer of Mobb Deep), Taral Hicks (American actress and singer, mostly known for her role as Jane Williams in the 1993 American crime drama film A Bronx Tale), Chuck Zito (American actor, amateur boxer, martial artist, celebrity bodyguard, and stuntman), Safaree (American rapper, songwriter and television personality), Sophia the body (reality star on Love and Hip Hop), and Maino (rapper and actor). Directed by video camera man extraordinaire, Jamal Hall, this series is a must see and guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The JERSEY series tells the story of Malcolm Graves, played by Alonzo Herran Jr., who is the mayor of Newark, NJ. Young Mayor Graves is trying to recover from an assassination attempt on his life when his personal life starts spiraling out of control. His son, Elijah Graves wants to test his manhood by following the wrong crowd, however Elijah’s new friends have a hidden agenda. His brother, Drew Graves, who was working as the Mayor’s Aide, plans on starting his own street empire, but Drew creates a bloody mess with the Italians. His wife Miasha Graves, wants out of the loveless marriage and tries to distance herself, but can she? Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Malcolm Graves is forced to step down as Mayor and get his hands back on the darkside of the streets. Will he survive this go-around? Or will he finally cause his own demise?

JERSEY will premiere exclusively at CityPlex·12 Theatre, 360-394 Springfield Avenue, Newark NJ on July 26, 2018 with showtimes at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for viewings of episodes 1-3.
